Changing

Okay...............so I haven't posted for a few days. Just color me lazy! (Remember, I've been on "chemo vacation" - and I guess that includes blogging). Sorry.

Life has been good. I've enjoyed this past week, although I have been extremely busy. Just today I spent a great deal of time STILL trying to wade through all of the insurance paperwork AND the Medicare paperwork. Regarding Medicare, I finally made my decisions on which plan(s) I wanted and which I didn't. I faxed a note to my current insurance company to cancel them effective December 1st. It was important to do this NOW, because if it was faxed (or postmarked) later than November 1st, the change wouldn't have been effective until January 2010. So now on Monday I need to call my new secondary insurance provider to get signed up. And then do the same for Medicare Part D (the prescription plan).

Oh yes, I also spent part of today re-cleaning out the horse trailer. It's now in pristine condition and basically parked for the winter. I also cleaned my furnace filter (I have a steel filter that I bought many years ago. While the initial cost was high, I don't have to go out and purchase a new filter every month. I just take it out and hose it down and voila - I'm good for another month.) The only thing I didn't do today was drain my irrigation lines or roll up my hoses. I decided to wait a couple more days, since the daytime temperatures have warmed back up to the 60's and 70's and I'm still in need of cleaning the gutters.

..............Now for the "changes". I used to HATE daylight savings time in the spring and then returning to standard time in the fall. No, I don't actually hate daylight savings time, I just used to hate the change. You know, that dragging feeling when you returned to work on Monday, not yet quite use to the change. Well, over ten years ago I fixed that problem by moving my clocks back (or forward) on FRIDAY NIGHT. (Those of us with "no life" and thus no plans for a Saturday afternoon or evening have no trouble with this arrangement). It really does work. By the time Monday rolls around, things seem pretty "normal". And it even helps you get to church on time on Sunday - and you get there with a smile on your face. So, even though it is too late for anyone reading this to try my system for this fall, keep it in mind for next spring. It truly works! (Would I lie to you?)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all of you out there in bloggerland. Don't eat too much candy. Me? You know that candy doesn't agree with my system right now. So you can have all of mine.

I pray for all of you out there that read my blog. You are a great inspiration to me and I know that God has put you in my life to help me through the next weeks, months and years.

Hugs and love from me to you.

Candy (especially chocolate) doesn't agree with my sytem either. It makes me swell! I have a lot of swelling problems on my hips -- ha, ha.

BOO!

We've had a nice flow of charming and appreciative Trick or Treaters. And, I've treated myself to two bite-sized Snickers bars. I don't have too much of a sweet tooth, but.. Hey... it's Halloween, and I'm just a big kid.

Insurance forms can be mind-boggling and depressing. Glad you have the ability to wade through them. It's worth it.

LOVE,

You've been quite busy for a "vacation"! I got tired just reading about all you did. whew. Glad you navigated all the insurance forms. They aren't any fun at all. But good thing you got everything done in time before the deadline. Hugs from the desert.
