Home - Plus Four

What a difference. I've been back HOME for exactly four (4) weeks already! It has been great being home, but in so many ways I still feel like I am playing catch-up.

Like with the mail. I am just now almost ready to admit that I am current with the mail. But I'm still working on a couple of medical claims - - - matching them up with the insurance results. It's kind of frustrating, but also rewarding when I actually get a piece of paper off the pile and permanently filed.

And of course there is the winterizing of the place. While our cold snap last week is now history, it won't be long until winter is really here. And there are so many things I still want to do.

This week I made appointments with my primary physician and also my eye doctor. Unfortunately, they could not be made on the same day. That means two trips to Spokane in November.

I've also arranged to get my pickup serviced on Monday. I haven't had the oil changed in a couple years (don't put many miles on the old rig), so it will be nice to get that done before winter.

Then next Friday I'm hauling horses to Walla Walla for the day - my horse trainer friend is going to climb on my three oldest and make sure to get the kinks out. Then one never knows.....I may even decide to get back in the saddle as well. (I certainly wouldn't do it with no one around). Also, I'm taking my dog to the vet that day too. I always like it when I can multi-task and get two things done in one trip.

Today has been a "back-to-normal" day. Back to feeling hungry and wanting to eat. I need to go to the store tomorrow to get some more supplies. I had a couple pouched eggs for breakfast, a steak for lunch and then cream of tomato soup for dinner. And I'm still hungry.

Life is good. Cancer has been a way for me to slow down and really focus on what is important. I've decided that worrying and keeping busy are not the important things. Staying in tune with nature and God's plan is much more important. I always feel that I fail at doing things God's way. But He knows how imperfect I am and He loves me anyway. Can't help but love a God like that!
