Historic Savannah

The first historic building we came to. We're still in the trolley car on this one.


Standing on the Savannah River with a cool cable bridge in the background. While it is similar to the one in Pasco, this one was designed, built & financed by women! Came in ahead of schedule and under budget!!!! Of COURSE.

In front of the Cotton Exchange. This is a very cool building and we had just finished a geocache at this site.

Another pretty park (or square) in Savannah. This monument was actually dedicated to a Polish General that came & fought during the revolutionary war.

One of our cache finds took us to the top of a public parking garage in Savannah. The garage manager (Van) is listening to Carol explain how geocaching works. He had NO IDEA this cache had been there for the past four (4) months!! It was fun to meet him. Nice guy.

The Davenport House .... across from one of the squares we visited. Beautiful home.

This was another building across from the city fire station and next to the police station. It was hard to not just keep snapping pictures.

Here is Carol logging one of our nine cache finds of the day. We had to be really careful to not let any muggles (non-geocache folks) see what we were doing and try to find & ruin the cache for others. Stealth was required!!!!

This fountain is supposedly very similar to the one at Concorde Square in Paris....and the lady in the fountain also symbolizes the Statue of Liberty.

An interesting side street we walked by...The water shows just how much it rained on Monday. But thankfully we had a clear, sunshiny day.

And thus ends our tour of Savannah.......We leave in the morning for Charleston, SC.

We're going to watch a little TV now and then hopefully another game of cribbage. Yes, I lost Sunday night's game....but I scared her for a little while. Carol may soon be sorry that she invited me. (Hmmmm, did you invite me, Carol?)
