Had another chemo session today.....number six. That means I only have 12 more to go. I've now officially completed one-third of my chemotherapy treatments.
So far, today has been great. I think one of my biggest issues is drinking soda (although I've switched to root beer....it still upsets my gut). Some things are just a lot more of a struggle to give up.
I was telling the nurse today about how I seem to be constantly hungry. She said "oh good, at least that way you won't lose weight". I told her I would actually like to lose about 15 more pounds, but she said "oh no, not right now you don't". So it's back to eating, eating, eating for me. Imagine, having to eat like crazy just to maintain my weight. I have a follow-up appointment with the doctor the first part of December, so I'll get weighed then and we can see how I am doing.
At least I've felt good all day today. Feeling good really helps the attitude.
In early June I was up in Moses Lake and I picked up some of my dad's old harness (used to hook a horse up to a wagon.....probably at least 100 years old). Unfortunately, I was unable to get the harness out of the back of my jeep until this afternoon. It's now laying on the floor in my tack room until we can build some racks or something to hang it. I was just thrilled when my neighbor and his son came over and asked if we could unload it tonight.
Thursday I get the jeep serviced. I always enjoy a quick trip to Hermiston. If I need to shop, I can get my purchases tax-free, as there is no sales tax in Oregon. And that is the last thing I need to do to prepare to drive over to Seattle this weekend. Always good to know that your vehicle is winterized and in the best possible condition.
Thanks for all of your continued prayers, and for your blog comments, email comments or phone calls. It's wonderful to know that I have so many people that care about me. Know that you are in my prayers too. God has been good to me by providing me with great friends. You're the best.
Hugs to all.
Ouch.

Wish I could give you some of my "extra" pounds. But, I'm eating better, and getting closer to my ideal weight. Progress, not perfection.
So, good to read that you are doing well. Answer to prayer.
LOVE,
CADENCE'S GRAND DAD
Hope any critters get frozen before you hang the harness - I had a friend who put one up in his house, and had a zillion flies come out of it.....yuck! Not for the faint of heart! Keep on trucking Phyllis - njc
