Rwanda in Pictures

These are some of the pictures I took the first couple of days in Rwanda.

Weighing the luggage, to make sure the large suitcases are less than 50 pounds and the small carry-ons less than 15 pounds

The plane we boarded in Washington DC and stayed on all the way to Kigali

Arriving at Kigali International Airport to sunshine and perfect 75-degree weather

The U.S. Embassy in Kigali. What a beautiful flag!

The road to Hilltop....Anybody notice the ruts? We clocked it and timed it and it took us 15 minutes on these roads to travel 3 kilometers (just over 1 mile).

The tower “base” when we started

Filling in the mortar

Heaving rocks into the hole!

My mosquito netting....Be sure to tuck it in ALL the way around the bed.

I'm currently over in Seattle. Brought my brother over today for an early Friday morning doctor's appointment. We're thinking of going out to dinner tonight. Arnie's sounds good!

Will get more sent later.

Wow, Phyllis, looks like you slept in a bed made for a princess! You've sent some great pictures.

Thanks for sharing some of your pictures. That does look like hard work moving those rocks.
