Application

Recently I attended an information meeting about possibly going on a mission trip to Rwanda. After listening for an hour or so, I felt very compelled to fill out an application.

I grabbed the paperwork, but couldn't complete everything because I didn't have my passport information with me.

Monday all of the documents were completed and signed and put in the mail. Yes........I have officially applied to go on a mission to Rwanda, Africa. Oh my gosh. I'm so nervous, so excited and feel very blessed. There are so many details to work out, shots to get, arrangements to make. But the first step has been completed. The application is in the mail. Then yesterday I dropped off stuff for folks to provide references. They needed two. One I know has already been completed and mailed. The other one should be soon. Once the Africa Mission Alliance (AMA) team in Portland, Oregon receive everything, they will assess whether I can be on their team. (They told us that virtually everyone that applies gets to go......barring a health issue or something). But still, I must await confirmation before moving to the next step.

The trip I applied for leaves around Christmas and returns January 10, 2009. Oh my gosh. That's coming up so fast. But thank goodness I have several international trips under my belt and I know how to pack.

But Africa. Gee. Talk about a leap of faith.

More info to follow.

PK... What the heck is this mission for? Depending on the shots/immunizations you may need, they can be spendy!
